Always focused on making impressisons count LinkLine opt for a quartet of next generation R 500 to support future growth.

Specialising in food and drink, packaging and hazardous goods sectors, LinkLine takes its brand image very seriously and its evolution of service offering to now provide a single source for their customers has seen it live upto its strapline; dedicated to deliver.

As an important part of its business model, the careful selection of manufacturer and condition of vehicles are constantly under review. “That’s our brand out there on the roads,” comments Commericial Director, James Bowes. “Keeping a fresh, well maintained fleet is essential for us. That is why we instilled a three year rule for our fleet. Regardless of whether it’s our fleet of vehicles or the service we offer, each impression matters and both must share the same high standards.”

The next generation Scania simply ticked all the boxes for LinkLine. With common brand values, a strong performer on the road and impressive dealer back up the decision to choose the R 500 was simple.

“The mpg is fantastic, it really was a no brainer,” states James Bowes,”When considering our options, we talked to companies we work with and trust that were already running the product and they confirmed what we’d already heard about its performance.”

The fleet itself operates on nationwide trunking and drivers will often stop overnight in the vehicles. Acting as a second home for some, a good working environment is a must for LinkLine.

“With the new R Cabs we opted for premium specification, which came with leather seats, sat nav, bluetooth, an uprated media system, larger bunk and rear storage lockers to name a few. As the next generation models boast even more room inside the cabs, it really does deliver a spacious and enjoyable working environment,” adds Mr Bowes.

The vehicles were purchased on a contract hire agreement with full repair and maintenance included, underwhich the vehicles will be maintained by their local TruckEast dealerpoint in Wellingborough. To maintain service levels to their customers, it is imperative for LinkLine to have a reliable fleet with support when it matters.

James Bowes recalls, “my experience with TruckEast has delivered just that to date. The Area Sales Manager, Tom McCullagh was always accessible  and gave superb service levels and the local Wellingborough team has been attentive at all times. This is what I expect from a supplier. To be there and simply do what they say they’ll do.”

With humble beginnings LinkLine operates a mixed marque fleet of over 40 trucks. Now onto its second decade of trading, the Northamptonshire based haulier has a strong vision of future growth over the next three years starting with a new 70,000 square foot distribution hub opening in Liverpool and 8 new trailers arriving in August.
