Haulage firm, Fred Sherwood & Sons (Transport) LTD has invested in six new Renault Trucks as part of a significant upgrading and modernising programme.

Based in Shepshed, Leicestershire, the 63-year-old firm Fred Sherwood & Sons, which specialises in waste and recycling, was required to replace six of its 120 vehicles as part of a long-term upgrade programme which ensures the firm meets customer demand across the UK, while reducing downtime resulting from wear and tear problems.

The firm purchased the trucks from East Midlands Renault Trucks distributor RH Commercial Vehicles (RHCV) – having previously bought with them in the past.

Justin Sherwood, Director at Fred Sherwoods said: “To ensure we are offering the best and most efficient service, we change our vehicles every five years to meet changing and growing demand.

“We chose to invest with RHCV again after being provided with a demo truck as we were able to see all the benefits of the Renault trucks. The RHCV team has always been great to work with and as the support is second to none and even the aftersales assistance is helpful and beneficial to us.

“We will always continue to upgrade our fleet to reflect our high standards and we have plans to do so again in 2017, returning to RHCV and its brilliant team when we do.”

The deal with Fred Sherwood follows a successful 12 months for RHCV who is currently 40 years in business. As well as winning a hat-trick of awards including Dealer of the Year at the annual Renault Trucks Dealer Awards last year, RHCV was also named as one of East Midlands’ fastest growing companies in the Grant Thornton Top 200.

Paul Pearson, Commercial Director at RHCV said: “RHCV is dedicated to going the extra mile for the customer whether it is providing a demo truck or through aftersales support and Fred Sherwood has always been a valued customer of ours for many years. We are delighted that we can continually help Justin and the firm with its investment and upgrading programme.”

RHCV has been selling, leasing servicing and repairing heavy (HGV) and light commercial (LCV) vehicles across the East Midlands for four decades.  The company employs 90 staff across its three sites in the East Midlands – in Nottingham, Cossington and Alfreton (Derbys).
