As fast-growing hire company Buddha Group increases the range of services it offers, the Cheshire-based organisation has also needed to look at operating a wider range of commercial vehicles to transport its infrastructure products to and from customer locations.

Based in Hale, Cheshire, Buddha Group has now added three brand new Isuzu 3.5 tonne Grafter rigids, each with dropside bodies, to its delivery and collection fleet and has a further two Isuzu 7.5 tonne rigids, also with dropside bodies, on order for delivery later this year.

This is the first time that Buddha Group has operated Isuzu trucks in its fleet and David Hyde, warehouse and fleet manager at Buddha Group, explains the reason for the shift in its vehicle buying programme, “As a business, we originally started off as an events company supplying infrastructure products for festivals, parties and corporate events. Recently however, we have diversified into supplying similar infrastructure products for production staff in the film and TV industries.”

This expansion of the company’s products and services has required them to invest in additional new trucks with Buddha acquiring their first ever Isuzu rigids. The initial reaction from the drivers and logistics team at Buddha has been extremely positive towards the Isuzu marque.

“The arrival of the Isuzu Grafters has been a revelation for us as they offer complete flexibility for our daily operations. They are far nimbler than their predecessors, with a compact turning circle, whilst also having an excellent towing capability. Most of all, we have been impressed by the ease of loading, especially for our range of pedestrian fencing, where the bed design of the truck body allows us to maximise the payload of at least 1 tonne each time, making maximum use of the space with neat, tight storage of the fencing,” said David.

David continues, “Now that we have had the Isuzus in service for a while, we are also finding that we are getting excellent fuel efficiency from them as we get a better understanding of how good the Isuzu Grafters are in daily operation, when we work them really hard.”

All the new Isuzu 3.5 tonne and 7.5 tonne rigids are being supplied by local Isuzu Truck dealer, Warrington Vehicle Centre and as David Hyde says, “We have been really impressed by the overall service given to us by Warrington Vehicle Centre throughout the whole acquisition process and we cannot praise them highly enough.”

Buddha Group was first established just over seven years ago based in Ashley, Hale in Cheshire. Originally the company covered just events in the north-west but as they have grown quite quickly, today they are now providing national 24/7/365 coverage to their customers in Film, TV and Events with infrastructure products.

“Within their industry, Buddha Group has grown really quickly by providing its customers with a comprehensive and efficient service. As their distribution requirements change, so do their vehicle requirements and we are really pleased to now be supplying them with trucks at both 3.5 tonne and 7.5 tonne, where the Isuzu’s proven characteristics of reliability, impressive payload and fuel efficiency are industry leading,” said Richard Waterworth, head of sales, Isuzu Truck UK.
