GJB Haulage, the Thatcham-based haulage and transport solutions firm, has added a top specification Renault Trucks Range T520 High 6×2 pusher axle to its hardworking fleet of nine vehicles.  In deep blue metallic paint with colour coded front and side panels, the imposing and spacious T520 High meets the company’s high standards for vehicle looks, comfort and driver acceptance.

Commenting on the decision to bring the first Range T High onto the fleet, Managing Director Graham Burgess says: “We’d previously run a Premium 460 back in 2012 and it proved to be great on fuel and very reliable indeed. Having seen a T High demo, we contacted Rob Coxon at Renault Trucks South to make some enquiries.  We were impressed with the truck’s looks and comfort, and driver Luke Clark was pleased with the roomy cab.”

Looking after valued drivers is a priority for Graham, and the T520 is equipped for a comfortable life on the road, with top of the line Comfort cab trim, heated and cooled leather seats, microwave and under bunk full size fridge freezer.  “According to Luke, it’s a very good motorway truck, very quiet and smooth, and the bunk is easily the best he has ever slept on,” says Graham.

Featuring twin roof-mounted air horns, Kelsa Hibar and Lobar, Alcoa Dura-Bright alloy wheels, GJB Haulage’s T520 High also comes with twin fuel tanks (550 and 240 litre), rear-mounted 62 litre ad blue tank, aluminium air tanks and a sliding fifth wheel.  Power is from Renault Trucks’ efficient 13 litre DTi engine rated at 512hp coupled to a 12-speed Optidriver automated gearbox.

Impressed by how positively his drivers have taken to the T520 High, Graham is also pleased with the truck’s performance in operation.  He says: “The T High is already averaging a very respectable 9.8mpg, and we expect to see this rise as the engine beds itself in.”
