With the arrival of six new Isuzu 7.5 tonne N75.190 rigid trucks, York-based company Genta Medical now has gone 100% with Isuzu for all its 7.5 tonne distribution vehicles.

As a long-standing operator of the Isuzu marque, going back as far as 2009 when they took delivery of their first Isuzu, Genta Medical has really good long-term proven experience of the brand, as Genta’s transport manager Neil Dobson confirms, “With having operated Isuzus for so long, we know that very little tends to go wrong with them on a daily basis. This reliability is essential for our distribution cycles, bearing in mind the urgent and critical nature of the loads being carried.”

The Isuzu 7.5 tonne rigids are involved in the supply of diagnostic reagents and solvents to the NHS and hospitals as well as offering a collection service for waste solvents. Genta Medical plan to keep its new Isuzus for a minimum five-year period with each vehicle covering in the region of 85,000 km per annum. As part of the new vehicle deal, all the new Genta Isuzus will be supported by a full 5-year Isuzu R&M contract.

Neil continues, “Compared to other makes at this GVW, we find that Isuzu is by far the most reliable, which is why we put them at the centre of our distribution operation.”

Supplied and supported by local Isuzu dealer Cartwright Fleet Services in Leeds, the Isuzus are specified with the popular Easyshift automated transmission and have been fitted with box bodies that have a rear roller shutter door and near side full height shutter door. This extra access facility provides added flexibility for the driver when loading and unloading of solvents, allowing Genta to operate both delivery and collection services with one vehicle. All the Genta drivers are ADR trained for hazardous liquids.

“Long-term relationships are part and parcel of the Isuzu DNA and it is pleasing to see that Genta Medical continue to make such a long-term commitment to Isuzu for its 7.5 tonne vehicle requirements,” said Richard Waterworth, head of sales, Isuzu Truck UK.
