Christopher Kennedy, a 23 year old man has been arrested on Friday and charged with human trafficking following the deaths of 39 Vietnamese people in a lorry in Essex. Northern Ireland based Kennedy is due to appear in court today.
Kennedy is accused of conspiracy to facilitate the transportation of people with a view to exploitation and conspiracy to facilitate the commission of a breach of UK immigration law.
Five others have also been arrested in connection with the deaths.
