2019 saw a momentous milestone for Scania dealer TruckEast, with its Stowmarket branch completing more pre-delivery inspections (pdi’s) over twelve months than total vehicles sold across the group the year before.
Throughout the year, vehicles operating across a breadth of industries went through stringent preparation and delivery checks before registration. During which the workshop team, comprising of 15 technicians, managed to carry out a massive 85% more pdi’s than they did in 2018.
A large part of the increase in pre-delivery inspections came from a Felixstowe based customer, Maritime Transport Ltd. The privately-owned multi-modal specialist put 333 new Scania’s on the road in 2019, all of which were prepared and delivered through Stowmarket. The new artics, a combination of R410 and R450 6×2/2 Highlines with sleeper cabs have since gone out to various Maritime sites across the UK.

Key to the process is working closely with internal departments, suppliers and of course the customers themselves. Many variables are involved and over the years the team at TruckEast knows to expect the unexpected, but experience shows that by having strong open relationships with all involved it ensures a smooth delivery.

TruckEast Stowmarket is the head office for the East Anglia based Scania dealer, where it offers a broad range of services including servicing and repairs, vehicle sales, ATF and tachograph facilities, a comprehensive parts store, accident repair centre and a recycled parts division.
