DAF Trucks continues to experience growing demand for its First Choice quality-approved used trucks, and in particular its Euro-6 XF 6×2 tractor unit models. First Choice is DAF Trucks’ premium, quality-approved used truck programme. DAF Trucks and PACCAR Financial – DAF Trucks’ financial services division – will display late model, low mileage 460bhp and 510bhp examples of these in-demand models at the CV Show.
The trucks will take a prominent position within DAF Trucks’ outside display area. “Our Euro-6 three-axle XF tractors are at the top of operators’ wish-lists,” said Paul Young, Regional Asset Manager at PACCAR Financial, “and are typical of growing demand for premium quality, late model Euro 6 compliant vehicles in the used market.”
First Choice takes carefully selected models of no more than five years old with a maximum mileage of 600,000km on tractor units, 300,000km on LF models up to 16-tonne and CF multi-axle rigids, and 400,000km on 18-tonners.
The programme operates alongside the existing DAF used trucks offering, but for added peace of mind, has two key differences – a six-month First Choice Care warranty managed by DAF Trucks and, secondly, vehicles are sold virtually ready for immediate delivery following a full inspection and after reconditioning to showroom standard.
First Choice Care is DAF Trucks’ own warranty offering – a genuine manufacturer’s warranty scheme – operated from its UK head office in Thame and supported by the DAF Dealer network which has 139 locations in the UK and Ireland to deal with any claims. Aftersales support for First Choice used trucks comes in the shape of DAFaid, recognised as the largest, most comprehensive breakdown recovery in the industry, and providing European Roadside Assistance 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
First Choice Care is boosted further by enhanced warranties across its range of late model / low-mileage used vehicles. Originally supplied with an attractive six-months cover that consisted of three-months full followed by three-months driveline warranty, DAF First Choice customers will now benefit from a new six-months full vehicle bumper to bumper warranty cover.
A range of DAF MultiSupport service and maintenance contracts are available for all First Choice used trucks, as well as competitive finance options funded through DAF Trucks’ in-house finance company, PACCAR Financial.
“We’ve really pushed the DAF marque to the top of customers’ shopping lists,” added Paul Young. “Since we launched DAF First Choice in 2014,” he said, “we’ve seen the quality of the offering reflected in customer demand and the price used truck buyers are prepared to pay. The new extended warranty offering underlines our confidence in the quality of the DAF product, backed as it is by a genuine manufacturers scheme.
“Of course, DAF First Choice can offer vehicles from right across the DAF range,” added Young, “Each vehicle is subjected to a stringent mechanical and cosmetic reconditioning prior to sale, hitting the forecourt in showroom condition and ready for the road.”
