Delamode is delighted to announce it has won The British International Freight Association’s (‘BIFA’) 2017 award for European Logistics. Now in its 28th year, this is widely acknowledged as the freight and logistics industry’s leading awarding ceremony. BIFA, celebrates and rewards nominees and category winners for achieving the highest standards in their respective fields.

Delamode won the 2017 title for European Logistics for the launch and development of its EshopWedrop service which provides Eastern European consumers with the ability to buy goods online from western retailers and have them delivered to their homes. Historically, the high costs of delivery meant it was prohibitive for consumers in Eastern Europe to purchase goods from online retailers.

EshopWedrop is a new service only just launched in 2015, overlaying Delamode’s existing B2B groupage routes with a B2C delivery service, enabling consumers to make online purchases in the UK, Poland, Italy and Germany and have their goods delivered quickly and at cost effective prices.

The judges’ comments following Delamode’s success, “The judges agreed that Delamode had demonstrated the successful implementation of an innovative solution in providing a cost effective parcel delivery service to the Romanian and Baltic state markets. The service solution provided cost saving benefits to the business whilst clearly benefitting the customer base in offering a more efficient delivery service.”

BIFA is the trade association for the 1,500 UK-registered companies in the logistics and supply chain management sector engaged in the international movement of freight by all modes of transport.

Stephen Blyth, Chairman Delamode Group, said, “We are truly delighted to have the launch and success to date of EshopWedrop recognised through the winning of this BIFA award . It is particularly pleasing to have won this award now for the third time and given the progress we continue to make within the Delamode Group and our various IT innovations, we hope that we can again be successful in the future.”
