Jacqueline O’Donovan has been successful with a prestigious award at the SME National Business Awards in Wembley Stadium on Friday last. The respected Awards are an annual event and held to recognise the hard work, enterprise and endeavour of stand-out businesses on an national level.

 

Having already been successful in a number of award wins this year, Jacqueline expressed her delight at scooping this title.  “This has been a phenomenal year for me and picking up this trophy today has really put the icing on the cake.  Our family business is going from strength to strength and on a personal level, I am delighted to be recognised not only for my business and leadership skills but for inspiring other women into business and encouraging diversity”

 

Jacqueline has received several accolades in 2018, including the PwC ’UK Private Businesswoman of the Year’ Award, the Building Magazine ‘Female Leadership’ Award as well as the ‘Woman of the Decade in Enterprise and Leadership’ from the Women’s Economic Forum.

 

As managing director of O’Donovan Waste Disposal, Jacqueline has worked in the family business all her life since becoming MD at the young age of 19.  The multi-award winning business with a turnover of £21m+ and 160 employees is known for its outstanding service and sustainable credentials as well as being an innovator in the waste and construction sector.
