Howard Tenens Logistics has been named as a finalist for the European Automotive Logistics awards.
Following the recent announcement that Howard Tenens has been shortlisted for two Motor Transport awards the logistics company have also been shortlisted for the European Automotive Logistics Awards in the Greener Supply Chain category. The Greener Supply Chain award recognises those that demonstrate the most significant commitment to reducing emissions and pollution within automotive logistics processes.
Howard Tenens has been at the forefront of environmental logistics for over a decade with a number of vehicle trials, solar panel installations, as well as internal waste management projects. The award nomination has come just a few months following the company’s latest environmental initiative, operating two dedicated gas 26-tonne rigid vehicles as part of a trial with Low Emission Freight and Logistics Trial, funded by the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) in partnership with Innovate UK. Anna Rickard – Environmental Manager at Howard Tenens comments: “Howard Tenens’ aim is to be a leader in sustainable logistics and actively embrace innovation and new technologies. The dedicated gas vehicle project clearly demonstrates our commitment to this aim and that we are constantly striving to find new ways to reduce our carbon footprint and that of our customers.”
The Automotive Logistics Awards are the most comprehensive in the sector, not only demonstrating the variety of automotive logistics services, but also their combination with new technology and processes. Howard Tenens are looking forward to attending the awards event in Bonn, Germany later in the year where they are hoping to pick up the Greener supply chain award.
