FORS, the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme, is delighted to announce its continued support of road safety charity Brake, as sponsor of the Fleet Safety Innovation category at the UK Fleet Champions Awards 2022.

The annual awards, which take place this year on 20th October at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester, is part of a global road safety partnership campaign led by Brake to recognise those working to prevent crashes and reduce the pollution caused by vehicles used for work purposes.

FORS, one of the commercial partners at the event, is sponsoring the Fleet Safety Innovation Award, which celebrates the fleet operator or supplier that has developed the most successful and pioneering approach to fleet safety.

Speaking of the sponsorship, Ian Henderson, FORS Concession Director said:

“FORS has worked with Brake for several years at events such as their Fleet Safety Conference and Fleet Champion Awards and we are delighted to continue to support the fantastic work they do.”

Henderson continued:

“With safety at the forefront of so much that FORS stands for, it is fantastic to see no less than 11 companies shortlisted for the Fleet Safety Innovation Award this year. We wish all the entrants at the UK Fleet Champions Awards the very best of luck.

FORS is transforming and that includes placing great emphasis on safety for drivers and vulnerable road users, and our transformation also means a greater emphasis on decarbonisation; a subject of much debate at our recent FORS Annual Conference. A safe and environmentally protective mindset can deliver real efficiency benefits for operators, and FORS is here to help transport companies boost their fleet performance.”

Brake has run a programme of awards in the UK for more than 10 years, and now organises similar events in Australasia and in low and middle-income nations via its Global Fleet Champions Awards programme. Brake works with communities and organisations to make roads safer for everyone and to support those who have been affected by serious injuries or death following a road crash.
