Bibby Distribution has been named among finalists for this year’s Logistics UK’s Awards, designed to recognise the best companies working across road, rail, sea and air.

Recognition in the ‘Road Freight Operator of the Year’ category follows an 18-month change programme at Bibby Distribution that has enhanced processes across the business and instilled a strong and positive culture in line with the company’s bold ambition to become the road transport sector’s ‘employer of choice’.

It also comes on the back of the company’s safest ever year. In 2019 the team reduced accidents by 20%, RIDDORS (Reporting of injuries, diseases and dangerous occurrences) by 67% and Lost Time Accidents by 46%.

The Logistics UK announcement is the latest in a number of award successes for Bibby Distribution in 2020.

In April, Bibby Distribution received a record five annual safety awards from the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) and the British Safety Council.

The business is also a finalist for Employer of the Year in the Lloyds Bank National Business Awards, designed to profile the nation’s most impressive public, private and third sector businesses.

And judges at this year’s Motor Transport Awards have shortlisted the 3PL in two separate categories – Safety in Operation and Technical Excellence.

Bibby Distribution’s CEO Richard Morson says: “External recognition of how hard our team works to deliver, improve and add value to our customers in the safest way possible is always welcome, but this year is perhaps more important than ever.

“The results our colleagues have continued to achieve in the most challenging circumstances is nothing short of extraordinary. I am so grateful for their commitment and achievements, and am very proud their work is being recognised on a wider stage.”

Logistics UK (formerly the Freight Transport Association) is due to announce the award winners at an event on Thursday 10 December, subject to government guidance.
