Two-Man Delivery Specialist Named as One of the UK’s Fastest Growing Private Companies

Panther Warehousing has risen to new heights in its ongoing success story having now been named as one of the UK’s fastest growing private companies in the Real Business Hot 100 2016.

The Hot 100 is based on turnover and profit with each company having to achieve sales of more than £10m and EBITDA of more

than £1m.  The final line-up comprised a wide range of businesses.

With a turnover of £27.4 million and an EBITDA of £2.7m quoted in its last set of accounts, Panther made its debut in the listing with a position of 6th place which was a fantastic achievement for the Northampton based company.  The company is on course this year to achieve a turnover of £37m.

It is yet another milestone achieved by the premium two-man delivery specialists in 2016.  Earlier this year Panther underwent a £17 million management buyout by mid-market private equity firm LDC forming the road map for Panther’s further development and expansion.

Panther Warehousing is one of the UK’s leading providers of two-man and one-man assisted white-glove home delivery services to a number of online and multi-channel furniture and white goods retailers and manufacturers.  In addition to its headquarters in Northampton, the business operates a nationwide network supported by eight strategically located hubs, employs a workforce of 800 and operates a fleet of nearly 400 fully livered vehicles.

Since Panther first introduced its ground breaking service in 2010, the company has gone from strength to strength, more than doubling its sales in the past two years which has been fuelled by the continued growth of online shopping coupled with its reputation for customer focus.

Having always been at the forefront of the market, Panther has consistently pushed the boundaries, extending its service offering with an innovative range of value added services all of which have been designed to both improve the customer experience and the retailer’s competitive edge.

Panther’s unique offering includes removal of packaging and room of choice, wet and dry assembly, later cut off times, Saturday and Sunday deliveries and Bank Holiday collections all underpinned by a robust IT platform which provides total visibility and interface with the end customer throughout the delivery process.

Colin McCarthy, Managing Director, Panther Warehousing who lead the management buyout team with seven members of his management team.

He commented:  “To be named as one of Britain’s fastest growing private companies is a tremendous accolade.  It is an achievement which recognises the hard work and dedication of every member of the Panther team.

“However we are not a business to rest on our laurels and recognise that we are only as good as our last delivery.  It is this reason why we consistently strive for excellence in everything we do to ensure maintain our position as a leading force in the two-man next-day delivery marketplace.”
