DSV are now operating a daily rail service via two crossings, one in the north and one in the south to expedite transit times between the UK and Italy. Depending on the collection or delivery postcode either Hull or Tilbury will be utilised to offer a transit time of 5 to 8 working days.
Regardless of the port of exit when departing the UK, the vessel sails to Zeebrugge, Belgium where the trailers are placed on the train for onward delivery to Novara in Italy. On arrival in Novara we arrange collection of the trailers and delivery to the final destination point. The same routing is used for Imports into the UK from Italy.
Utilising the rail solution offers great flexibility in both pricing and transit time, not to mention the environmental benefits.
