Following a successful launch in Australia, Runcorn based recycling and waste management company Jem Recycling has become the first company in the UK to purchase the brand-new Loadmac 220 truck mounted forklift. Building on the success of the 2.5T Loadmac machine – the 825iSR launched in 2010 – the Loadmac 220iR offers customers true 2000kg lifting capacity, superior reach, man on the ground mounting and is the only TMF made in Britain.

Jem Recycling pride themselves on offering their customers a one-stop waste management solution and operate a fleet of Luton vans and one 26T rigid fitted with truck mounted forklift as part of that operation. Jem Managing Director, Phil Robinson, explained why the company chose the new Loadmac 220: “The Loadmac 220 offers us a great deal of versatility. We have a lot of clients who don’t have on-site forklifts, so this vehicle combination is ideal to offer a great service to those customers.”

Robinson continued, “The Loadmac 220 is a very versatile machine, very practical and with the smaller engine offering as much power as a conventional forklift, it’s very cheap to run.”

The new machine also comes factory fitted with a Bolzoni fork clamp attachment, enabling Jem Recycling to operate the machine as a conventional forklift or as a clamp. Phil Robinson believes this added versatility will be a positive addition to their service offer: “The clamp function gives us the ability to leave pallets at our customer sites, reducing costs for our customers and giving us a higher payload. This type of vehicle combination is quite rare in the North West so it’s given us a better market capability too.”

Ian Chapman, Managing Director of Loadmac commented, “We are incredibly proud of the new Loadmac 220, which our engineering teams have worked tirelessly to develop. It offers our customers all the quality and performance the market has come to expect from the Loadmac 825, but with a lower weight it is the perfect solution for lighter duty applications such as waste handling. We are delighted to have Jem Recycling on board as a Loadmac customer and we look forward to a long and successful partnership with them.”

With the first Loadmac 220 proving a successful addition to the fleet, Jem Recycling are currently in advanced discussions to add a second Loadmac to their operation in the near future.
