Europa Showfreight, a division of ambitious independent logistics business, Europa Worldwide Group, recently undertook one of its most exclusive projects to date. The team was appointed as the official forwarder for one of the UK’s most prestigious lifestyle events, The Elite London.

The event showcased some of the world’s most high-class private jets, supercars, yachts, original artwork and other luxury brands for some of the country’s most affluent people at Biggin Hill Airport in May.

The operation involved transporting and handling the premium multi-million pound items, which included a vintage Ferarri and a Formula 1 racing car, by using specially designed services, unique to this type of event.

Europa’s Showfreight Manager, Jeff Broom, said: “Elite London is more than an exhibition, it’s a luxurious experience for its guests. We worked carefully to fit with this ethos, by providing highly specialised services tailored to each item, whether it was overseeing the movement of an aircraft or organising the shipment of a yacht. This was the third year running that Europa has been appointed as sole forwarder for Elite and this year’s event was the biggest yet.

“Europa Showfreight has just seen its most profitable year in 10 years (2016). Our ability to cater for niche sectors such as this has definitely contributed towards our success. Elite London is one of the world’s most exclusive exhibitions and the freight operation had to reflect that. Our sector knowledge and experience meant that we were able to fulfil the events’ specific shipping requirements making it a brilliant success for all its exhibitors and visitors.”

Elite events take place annually in both London and New York, attracting over 150 exhibitors and 4,000 guests from across the globe. Events include the finest dining and hospitality and ‘taster’ experiences for those wanting to try out the latest supercars and aircraft before they buy.

The team has managed logistics and project handling at a range of high profile events all over the world, including recent shows in Latin America, the Middle East and Africa. Last year (2016) Europa Showfreight saw its most successful year for a decade with a double digit increase in turnover, profits and consignments, with much of the success coming post Brexit.

As well as its specialist Showfreight division, Europa Worldwide Group provides services for Road, Air and Sea and Warehouse requirements. The company employs 600 people across 11 sites in the UK plus Hong Kong and is represented in 100 countries.
