Logistics firm makes major investment into business to expand its fleet

Hertfordshire-based logistics firm SMA Worldwide has invested almost £100,000 into expanding its fleet to meet the growing demand for freight services across the country.

SMA Worldwide is part of Palletways, Europe’s largest and fastest growing express palletised freight network which operates in 200 countries worldwide. The company has taken delivery of a total of six new Mercedes vehicles, ranging in size from 7.5 to 44 tonnes that will come into service immediately, to support the 75,000 pallets it moves every year through its collection and delivery operations.

Dr Sam Attia, Chairman, said: “We owe it to other Palletways members and our customer base to continually invest in the best equipment, to maintain and improve our service, which is entering its 17th year. We believe this recent investment sends out a strong signal to the marketplace about our national and international capabilities.”

SMA Worldwide offers a range of courier and logistics services, including worldwide air and sea freight, secure storage and warehousing and UK and European pallets.  Specialist services include professional packaging and marine insurance.  Its deliveries are all tracked and visible to customers via its advanced IT systems.   Customers range from high end retailer Selfridges through to Nickelodeon and University College London. It is based at Langley Waters, Home Park, Kings Langley.

The company was recently a finalist in the QE Insurance Award New Exporter of the Year category in the 2016 Lloyds Bank national Business Awards and supports the UKTI’s ‘Exporting is Great’ campaign.
