Two female truck drivers have started a new HGV training school (Horsepower) in an attempt to attract more women LGV & HGV drivers into what is known as a male-dominated sector.
Stats show over 99% of HGV drivers are male and with a driver shortage already affecting the industry it is a great idea to promote and attempt to recruit more female drivers.
Horsepower hopes to tempt women who may have never considered driving as a career with a series of taster days.
The company’s first taster day will take place at Oulton Park, Tarporley, Cheshire on Saturday 22nd November 2014 in conjunction with Warrington-based operator Mark Thompson Transport.
