Cambridgeshire based drainage specialists ADC Drainage Limited like to stay at the forefront in technology and their latest Scania P Series is no exception. With a stainless steel Cappellotto tank mounted to the chassis this 26 tonner is one of the first of its type in the UK.

Operating since 2000, ADC Drainage offers services including CCTV surveys, drainage cleaning with jetting and tanker operations as well as general system repair and maintenance. Their fleet consists of a variety of dedicated service vehicles that enable them to provide solutions for a range of drainage issues.

Supplied by local Scania Dealer, TruckEast Limited, the latest purchase was a P410 LB 6×2*4 MNA Day Cab. Powered by a 6-cylinder, 13 litre engine delivering 306 kW (410 hp), its output is transmitted smoothly via its 12 speed opticruise gearbox. The P Series is complete with a rear steer axle which means its highly manouevrable; a crucial aspect when inner city contracts demand tight turning circles.

When it came to their new truck, build quality was a key factor in the decision making process, Steve Paige, Director at ADC Drainage Limited explains, “Not only did the vehicle need to match our operational needs but with an investment such as this, lifespan and longevity come into play so we needed an asset that would stand the test of time.”

“We believe in delivering quality of service every time to our customers. Whether the contract is 10 miles down the road or in Jersey, our fleet must remain reliable and our other Scania’s have been just that”, Mr Paige continues.

The Cappellotto CapCombi system, specified and ordered through Fast Flow Solutions Ltd, offers both jet and vacuum operation and was tailored for the UK market.  Fitted directly at the factory in Italy, its tank is capable of carrying up to 2,640 gallons (10,000 litres) of waste. Boasting a high pressure pratisoli pump it extracts 63 gallons (240 litres) per minute at 250 bar through rotary vane technology. The system is completed by a high pressure jetting hose fed directly from a secondary tank holding 370 gallons (1,400 litres) of clean water.

Fully functional through radio remote control, the system is completely self cleaning thanks to two high pressure jets. “Once emptied, my engineers can move directly from one job straight to the next; with a simple activation on the control, the tank will fully clean itself,” adds Mr Paige.

“This Scania is now the most versatile unit on our fleet and we are really pleased with how its turned out,” continues Mr Paige. “The technical support we had from both TruckEast and Fast Flow Solutions was brilliant – we simply told them what we wanted and they worked together to ensure we got just that.”

Supported with a 5 year Repair and Maintenance Agreement, the latest 26 tonner will undertake all inspections and servicing at TruckEast’s Kings Lynn branch. “Since we began dealing with TruckEast, the team at Kings Lynn have delivered great service and are always happy to help,” states Mr Paige, “the back-up along with attention of the sales team to ensure our truck was exactly how we wanted it really makes a difference.”

ADC Drainage, formally known as ADC (East Anglia) Limited, are currently undergoing a rebrand following business growth and demand to now offer their services nationwide across the UK. This vehicle will support a variety of work including council contracts and was scheduled to support an emergency maintenance call out in London as going to print.
