In a significant conquest deal, one of the UK’s leading integrated waste management service suppliers, scrap metal dealers and vehicle de-pollution providers, A1 Group, has chosen its first Renault truck as an additional vehicle for its 50+ mixed fleet. The new 26 tonne C380 6×2 with rear steer is fitted with a £60,000 Whale Vacuum Tanker and will be used for emptying drains and cesspits across London.
The new C Range, supplied by Renault Trucks South, will be trialled alongside a Mercedes and a Volvo tanker for 3 years. It is fitted with a side sensor and 4-way camera to meet FORS compliance for London, and it records 24 hours a day to help with pedestrian and cyclist safety on congested London roads. Dean Knott, Operation’s Manager, explained why he chose Renault Trucks to join A1 Group’s fleet for the first time: “I first saw the Renault Trucks Range C in action at a launch event in France and I was immediately impressed. I’ve also heard great things about the new Renault Trucks Euro 6 range so I wanted to bring one on board and put it head to head with a Mercedes and Volvo and see which one performs the best.”
