Luton-based S H Pratt & Co is taking delivery of 25 TGX 26.440 XLX tractor units fitted with MAN’s new Efficient Cruise. Under the deal brokered with MAN Rental the tractor units will be maintained by John Arnold Commercials on a three-year repair and maintenance agreement.

Tony Hunter, head of logistics, explained why the MAN offering was so appealing: “I have always been impressed with the brand and the great product, and now that Efficient Cruise is a feature, the technology is there too.

“Efficiency is a major factor in our decision making. These vehicles will be running on a 24-hour double shift and will be covering 180,000kms per annum. They are real workhorses.”

Tony added that the R&M contract with John Arnold Commercials also suited Kinship Logisitics’ needs.

“We don’t want downtime for our fleet as we are expanding,” said Tony. “The fact that John Arnold can offer us a 24-hour workshop and support is a huge bonus.

“The service we have had from them has been second to none and they are a family run firm, like ours, so they understand our needs.”

John Reynolds, MAN sales executive, said: “It is fantastic to be working with S H Pratt & Co and Kinship Logistics at this exciting time in their business.

“They are a new business to us and we are looking forward to servicing their requirements during their successful expansion and on in to the future.”
