The 1,000th new Volvo truck to be acquired by renowned independent, used truck retailer and contract lease specialist company Hanbury Riverside, is a uniquely liveried FH16-750 tractor unit.
The Thurrock, Essex-based tractor unit sales specialist is also well known as a leading contract lease provider of high quality new trucks. To that end, the 1,000th new Volvo has now gone to work with a Hanbury Riverside customer who operates a container haulage business.

The new truck was supplied by Volvo dealer M C Truck & Bus Ltd from their depot at Thurrock and, as Hanbury Riverside Director Lee Smith reports, M C Truck & Bus Ltd have supplied 877 of what is now over 1,000 new Volvo trucks acquired by the company since 2004.

“We’ve had a long relationship with MC Truck & Bus and with Volvo, which goes back to 1982 and Managing Director Bernt Brandtzaeg,” he adds. “We like Volvo because the trucks are appreciated by drivers, and the fuel economy is consistently good. Volvo residuals are also consistently very strong. We enjoy a close relationship with M C Truck & Bus thanks to the product knowledge and the high level of continuity of the people we talk to there. They are always very approachable and there is always someone I can talk to. I need the Volvo dealers to look after my customers and I have also had great support from Mike Corcoran and his team at Volvo Trucks in Warwick.”

“I believe that, because Volvo have listened to drivers, they have got the product right. The seating, steering, vision and safety are much improved,” emphasises Lee, before concluding: “I have a passion for Volvo because our customers who take Volvos, keep coming back for more.”
