Maritime Transport (Maritime) is delighted to once again support the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.

Over the weekend of 29th and 30th October over 1,000 poppies were fitted to the company’s fleet of vehicles across the UK. The fitting of the poppies was a military operation, as they had to be installed simultaneously over all of their 27 sites across the UK. Maritime called on volunteers from within the business to give up some of their weekend in order to fit the poppies to the front grills of the trucks.

Maritime are proud to continue their support of the Royal British Legion as their chosen charity for 2016 after supporting the charity in 2015. It’s a cause close to a number of their employees’ hearts as the company employs a number of ex-servicemen and women in roles across their business.

John Williams – Managing Director, Maritime Group said “We are proud to have been able to continue our support for the charity and the assistance it offers to serving and ex-service personnel and their families. I’d like to thank our volunteers who gave up some of their spare time to help show their support for those who have served our country.”

He continues “As a business we are benefiting from the skill and strong work ethic ex-service personnel bring to the workplace. They learn the role fast in an environment where you need to think on your feet and we’re proud to be supporting these brilliant individuals.”
